The NGO ACDC, one of the beneficiaries of grants from the Office of Community Affairs implemented a project aimed at empowering young law graduates from the North of Kosovo, through the acquisition of practical skills and introduction to the professional world of the judiciary.
Throughout the project, young lawyers had the opportunity to be part of professional legal internship in law offices and ACDC, where they got acquainted with the real challenges of the legal profession. They worked on drafting legal documents, analyzing cases, handling cases, and communicating with real clients—all under the mentorship of experienced lawyers.
At the same time, their progress was carefully monitored through the Performance Evaluation System to ensure maximum quality and concrete contribution to their professional development.
Results achieved include:
- Improvement of the practical and professional capacities of young lawyers
- Greater competitiveness on the labor market
- Creating a new generation of experienced legal professionals
- Strengthening the local level legal sector
- Raising citizens’ trust in legal institutions
In the long term, the project contributed to reducing youth unemployment, development of local professional networks, and strengthening social cohesion in northern municipalities.
This model of youth empowerment has proven to be a successful example of how a targeted investment in knowledge and practice can turn into a stable foundation for the future of the legal system in Kosovo.
Gratitude extended to the Office of Community Affairs for their support, to all the mentors, partner offices, and institutions that contributed to this project, and especially to the young interns who demonstrated through their work how the knowledge, effort, and commitment can bring about change.
