The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) announces that the deadline for supporting children from families receiving social assistance in the Voucher Program has been extended until 12 October.

MESTI provides full kindergarten payment (vouchers) for beneficiaries of the Social Assistance Scheme (SAS) who have children aged 3 to 5 years. The voucher is offered to attend licensed private and public-private kindergartens for the 2025/26 school year, at no cost to parents.

• The Program will cover the kindergarten fee for the entire early childhood education cycle.

• Payment for transport for children who are unable to travel, whose distance is at least 4 kilometers from the kindergarten selected in the application procedure.

Families registered in SAS who reside in Prishtine, Fushe Kosove, Prizren, Ferizaj, Lipjan, Gjilan, Peje, Gjakove, Mitrovice, Vushtrri, Gracanice, Drenas, Shtime, Suhareke, and Kline are invited to apply to the Voucher Program in order to benefit from the program.

Participation in the Voucher Program will not affect benefits from the Social Assistance Scheme.

The Minister of the Ministry for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić, has secured an extension of the deadline for the population census for non-majority communities. The new deadline for completing the census is 31 October 2025.

This important step clearly demonstrates the minister’s commitment to protecting the rights of non-majority communities and ensuring that all citizens are adequately represented.

We invite all citizens to observe the new deadline and take part in the census on time.

The European External Action Service (EEAS) in Albania has opened a Call for Proposals under reference EuropeAid/184245/DD/ACT/AL, focused on cross-border cooperation between Albania and Kosovo.
The overall objective is to strengthen good-neighbourly relations, support EU integration, and foster social, economic and territorial development in the cross-border region.

Thematic Lots:

  • Lot 1 – Environment protection, climate adaptation & risk management (Amount: ~ 3.24 million €).
  • Lot 2 – Sustainable tourism & valuation of natural/cultural heritage (Amount: ~ 2.04 million €).

Amount of grants:

  • Lot 1: ~ 700,000 – 1,080,000 €.
  • Lot 2: ~ 300,000 – 510,000 €.

Responsibility of the lead applicant: must be a non-profit legal entity (NGO, public body or similar), registered in Albania or Kosovo, and responsible for the preparation and management of the project (not an intermediary).

Note: applicants must secure additional financing for a portion of the project (according to EU rules).

Deadline for submission of concept notes: 24 October 2025, 16:00 Brussels time (European External Action Service).

The Fulbright Program of the U.S. Department of State invites applications from citizens of Kosovo for study, research and teaching scholarships in the United States. This prestigious exchange program offers a unique opportunity to strengthen academic and professional skills, to build international networks, and to contribute to Kosovo’s development upon return.

Opportunities offered:

  • Fulbright Graduate Study Grants – for pursuing bachelor’s or master’s studies in the USA.
  • Fulbright Visiting Scholar Awards – for university staff or researchers to conduct research or lecture at U.S. institutions.
  • Fulbright Foreign Student Program – for recent graduates and young professionals to study or conduct research at U.S. universities.

The duration of the program is from 6–12 months (depending on the type of program).
Eligible candidates must be citizens of Kosovo, with strong academic or professional achievements, good command of the English language, and demonstrate leadership potential.
The fields of study are broad, open to all disciplines; however, proposals should demonstrate relevance to Kosovo’s development.
Tuition costs, living stipend, travel expenses and health insurance are fully covered.

Deadline for application: 7 October 2025.
