APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCE PERMITS AND CITIZENSHIP THROUGH E-KOSOVA
On June 9, the Department for Foreigners within the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that foreign nationals could submit applications for residence permit appointments through the e-Kosova digital platform. In the same way, citizens can apply for the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo.
This facilitates the application process, eliminates long waiting times, and reduces transportation costs.
The MIA emphasizes that scheduling an appointment is necessary for all those who are looking for a new residence permit or want to extend the existing permit, to comply with the legal deadlines.
All citizenship or residence permit applicants can register on the platform, complete the verification process, and then use the services on the platform.
For the regaining citizenship, select the section for Services → Civil status → Submit a citizenship application and follow further instructions.
For the residence permit, instructions can be found on the front page in the Residence Permits Section.
Note: foreign citizens must comply with the legal deadlines, before the expiration of the stated stay of 90 days, or those who extend their residence permit, must apply for a new appointment within 30 days before its expiration”.

The Kosovo Police has announced a public competition for the recruitment of new police officers per the stipulated application conditions.

NOTIFICATION: KOSOVO 2.0 AND LOCAL MEDIA BOOSTER – SUPPORT TO LOCAL AND INDEPENDENT MEDIA!
The Kosovo 2.0 announces a call for grants within the Local Media Booster program, a new initiative for “Strengthening the integrity of information in the digital age and era of artificial intelligence”. This initiative is implemented within the project “Support to civil society in Kosovo”, financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and implemented by LuxDev. The goal of the program is to strengthen local and independent media in Kosovo through financial and professional support.
Grants are intended for media organizations and journalists who:
- Promote investigative journalism,
- Follow topics of public interest at the local level,
- Strengthen freedom of expression and professional media standards,
- Contribute to better and more accessible information for citizens.
The program also offers additional mentoring support through training and professional consultations.

NOTIFICATION: GRANTS FOR CSOs FROM THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE IN PRISTINA!
The Council of Europe is launching a grant scheme to support the use of minority languages ​​in the media, education, central and local institutions, and culture in Kosovo*, in the framework of the project “Fostering social cohesion by reinforcing minority rights and minority languages”.
It aims to co-fund minority-focused media organisations, civil society organizations and educational institutions in implementing national and local projects aimed at enhancing public understanding of minority issues and of the European standards related to these issues, fostering a more informed and inclusive public dialogue while protecting language rights of Kosovo’s citizens and residents.
Project proposals shall aim to produce an added value to the Council of Europe (“CoE”) work to foster reconciliation and enhance societal cohesion in Kosovo by advancing the rights of minority groups, including language rights.
