On the occasion of International Roma Day, an official event was organized on April 17 with the financial support of the Office for Community Affairs, which gathered representatives of institutions and Roma community members to celebrate this important day and pay tribute to Roma history, culture, and the contribution of this community in our multi-ethnic society.
The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, along with Deputy Prime Minister and other officials of the Government of Kosovo, newly elected representatives from the Roma community, representatives of civil society, and numerous citizens.
In his speech, the Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the Government’s commitment to equality, inclusion, and non-discriminatory treatment of all citizens, with a special emphasis on supporting the Roma community in areas such as Education, Culture, and Social Integration.
The event was marked by introductory speeches, cultural activities, and discussions about the past and future of the Roma community in Kosovo, promoting the values of coexistence, diversity, and mutual respect. International Roma Day marks an important moment for reflection and commitment to building a fairer and more inclusive society for all.
