The Government of Kosovo, through the Ministry of Finance, announced a significant increase in maternity and child allowances, to strengthen support for families and economic empowerment of women. This measure takes effect immediately and applies to all new mothers, regardless of their employment status.
🔹 For unemployed mothers:
- Maternity allowance: €1,955.4 in total
- Disbursement: €315.9 per month for 6 months
- Child allowance: €240 in total
- Disbursement: €20 per month for 12 months
 ✅ Total support in the first year per child: €2,195.4
🔹 For working mothers: In addition to the regular salary (70% during maternity leave), the state additionally disburses:
- First 3 months: €325.9 per month = €977.7
- Next 3 months: €319.5 per month = €958.5
- Child allowance: €240 (€20/per month for 12 months)
✅ Total support in the first year per child: €2,176.2
