Open day for non-majority communities at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in Vushtrri!

On November 15, 2023, the Office for Community Affairs, in cooperation with the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety, organized an Open Day for high school students from non-majority communities to familiarize them with the possibility of participating and working in the agencies of safety. About 100 young students in their final year of high school had the opportunity to hear and see what services the Academy offers and how they can join them, informing them about the next competitions.

The Office for Communities is grateful to the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Community Affairs, Elizabeth Gowing, as well as to non-governmental organizations from non-majority communities who helped make this visit possible, where the cost of transport and refreshments were funded by the office itself.

This event has contributed to the fact that in the last generation of cadets, 20% are from non-majority communities, where a part of them are girls and boys who participated in this open day.

Among those present were the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rasić, as well as the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, who with their words supported this initiative and encouraged the young people who to join the academy.
